Rep. Jim Banks (R-Ind.) is leading a group of conservative House lawmakers on Tuesday to Bedminster, N.J., for a meeting with former President Donald Trump one day following the FBI's raid on Mar-a-Lago.

The trip had already been planned prior to Monday's raid of Trump's Florida residence, but the members will likely discuss the search during the get-together. Conservative lawmakers took a similar trip to Trump's Bedminster club last year for a wide-ranging strategy discussion.

On Monday evening, Republicans across Washington, D.C., and the country became enraged and vowed to investigate the Department of Justice and Attorney General Merrick Garland should they assume control of the House following the November midterms.

Banks, who currently heads the Republican Study Committee, told Breitbart last month that he fully "endorse(s) the Trump agenda, and we'll be having a conversation with him soon about ways that we can work together to advance it."

Several weeks ago, members of the influential committee met with former Vice President Mike Pence and applauded him for his display of courage on Jan. 6 despite significant pressure from the former president to halt the electoral certification process that confirmed Joe Biden's presidential win.
