President Joe Biden has announced that he will be bringing back the regular coronavirus briefing team that became a staple of the American viewing public during the early days of the pandemic under the Trump administration.

Starting Wednesday, experts from the administration will host several weekly briefings on the state of the pandemic, efforts to control the spread of the illness, and vaccine distribution effort.

"We're bringing back the pros to talk about Covid in an unvarnished way," said Biden on Tuesday. "Any questions you have, that's how we'll handle them because we're letting science speak again."

The Wednesday briefing will be held virtually. The lineup will include Jeff Zients, the administration's coordinator for pandemic response, as well as his deputy, Andy Slavitt. Familiar face Dr. Anthony Fauci will be present, as will Dr. Marcella Nunez-Smith, the chair of the administration's Covid-19 equality task force, and the new director of the CDC, Dr. Rochelle Walensky.
