An unnamed suspect allegedly crashed an 18-wheeler in an office of the Texas Department of Public Safety on Friday, resulting in multiple injuries.

Six persons sustained serious injuries, including three persons who had to be airlifted from the scene, the Associated Press reported, citing Texas State Sen. Lois Kolkhorst.

"This deliberate, heinous act is a reminder of the dangerous work done by our law enforcement and licensing agencies that work to provide public safety and services," Kolkhorst said.

The perpetrator allegedly was rejected for a commercial driver's license at the facility one day prior, NBC News reported.

"He returned today with intent to harm. Continued prayers for the DPS staff, troopers and civilians affected," Montgomery County Judge Mark Keough said.

"We can confirm that the Texas Rangers are investigating this incident. A suspect has been arrested and there is no further threat to the community. Additional resources are en route to assist," the Texas DPS confirmed.
