Marjorie Taylor Greene: Democrat support for Johnson a 'dangerous signal'

"I'm not going to allow the Republican speaker that I elected to continue to pass Joe Biden's agenda which includes funding the Department of Justice, which is trying to put President Trump in jail for the rest of his life," Greene said.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., on Thursday warned Democratic support for House Speaker Mike Johnson is a "dangerous signal."

Earlier this week, Democratic leaders in the House indicated that they would work against the move to oust Johnson if Greene went through with a motion to remove him.

"Mike Johnson is gaining the Democrat support from the Democrat base," Greene said on the "John Solomon Reports" podcast. "This is the most dangerous signal that everybody knows."

"I'm not going to allow the Republican speaker that I elected to continue to pass Joe Biden's agenda which includes funding the Department of Justice, which is trying to put President Trump in jail for the rest of his life," Greene added.

She further insisted that she did not want to pursue Johnson's ouster, but that she felt she had to do so in light of her belief that he had broken his promises.

Greene announced this week that she would advance a motion to vacate Johnson from his post as early as next week, arguing that he has given the Democrats everything they have wanted.

"We voted for Mike Johnson to be our Republican Speaker and we must hold him accountable for his actions and failures to our conference or we risk losing the majority next year," Greene wrote on the social media platform X.
