A group of Democrats in the Arizona Senate are seeking to pick up two or more Republican votes to repeal the state's 1864 abortion law.

The Arizona House passed a repeal bill last week.

Under the law, abortions are legal only to save the life of the mother but not in cases of rape or incest.

If the bill passes and gets signed into law by Gov. Katie Hobbs, D-Ariz., it wouldn't "take effect until 90 days after the end of the legislative session, likely in June or July," according to the Associated Press.
