Farah Griffin says FBI may have 'handed' election to Trump with Mar-a-Lago raid

The former Trump administration spokesperson speculated that someone close to the former POTUS may be feeding the FBI information.

Former Trump administration White House communications official and recently named cohost of "The View" Alyssa Farah Griffin speculated Tuesday morning during an appearance on CNN's "New Day" that the Monday raid of former President Donald Trump's Florida Mar-a-Lago estate could be the key to him winning another Oval Office term.

If the raid on Mar-a-Lago is "seen as some sort of massive overreach and not something incredibly serious, this is a very good day for Donald Trump," she said, adding that Trump "knows how to play this up in his favor."

On Monday evening, Eric Trump told Sean Hannity that the raid had been conducted over documents being sought by the National Archives. Earlier this year, the National Archives reportedly requested that the Justice Department investigate the former president's handling of records after Archives officials recovered more than a dozen boxes from Trump's estate containing sensitive information — some of it classified.

Farah Griffin argued that if the documents seized by the FBI on Monday contained "vital national security" information, then they may have posed a "grave national security risk" if they were released or handed to the wrong person.

The newly named talk-show host added that the "specificity" of the raid, i.e., agents knowing to look in Trump's safe — which Eric said they found nothing inside of — may imply that someone close to Trump is cooperating with the agency and providing inside information about where to search.

In a statement Monday evening about the raid, Trump wrote: "Nothing like this has ever happened to a President of the United States before. After working and cooperating with the relevant Government agencies, this unannounced raid on my home was not necessary or appropriate. It is prosecutorial misconduct, the weaponization of the Justice System, and an attack by Radical Left Democrats who desperately don't want me to run for President in 2024, especially based on recent polls, and who will likewise do anything to stop Republicans and Conservatives in the upcoming Midterm Elections."
