Fox News host Tucker Carlson used a scathing monologue on his Fox News television program Monday to excoriate President Trump and other leaders during an approximately 25-minute monologue about the civil unrest that has erupted in the wake of George Floyd's death in Minnesota.

Carlson, a conservative commentator and frequent Trump ally, tore into the president and warned that the commander in chief will lose the upcoming 2020 general election if he fails to quell the spate of criminal rioting around the U.S.

During the recent wave of lawlessness that has included looting, assault and arson, people have clashed with authorities and police vehicles have even been set ablaze.

Carlson aired footage of Fox News reporter Leland Vittert and a Fox crew fleeing as they were pursued by a group outside of the White House early Saturday.

"Vittert and the crew were punched and hit with projectiles as they fled, and a Fox News camera was broken when a member of the mob tried to grab it," Carlson lamented. Fox previously reported about the incident.

"That was in Lafayette Square in the center of our capital city. And the tape raised a troubling question: If you can't keep a Fox News correspondent from getting attacked directly across the street from your house, how can you protect my family? How are you going to protect the country? How hard are you trying?" Carlson queried.

"On Twitter the next morning the president reassured America that he and his family were just fine. The federally funded body guards had kept them safe. He did not mention protecting the rest of the nation, much of which was then on fire. He seemed aware only of himself," Carlson charged,

While Carlson approved of the president's Monday pledge to utilize the U.S. military to protect Americans around the nation if necessary, he warned that if Trump fails to put a stop to the illegal activity around the nation he will lose the upcoming presidential election.

"What Americans want most right now is an end to this chaos. They want their cities to be saved. They want this to stop immediately. If the commander in chief cannot stop it, he will lose in November. The left will blame him for the atrocities they encouraged, and some voters will agree. Donald Trump is the president. Presidents save countries. That's their job. That's why we hire them. It's that simple," Carlson said.

He also criticized Vice President Pence during the monologue.

"On Friday as American cities were being destroyed by mobs, the vice president of the United States refused to say anything specific about the riots we were watching on television. Instead Mike Pence scolded America for its racism," Carlson said.

Carlson lambasted Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner, alleging that Kushner undermined the president's better instincts.

"But the president's famously sharp instincts, the ones that won him the presidency almost four years ago, have been since subverted at every level by Jared Kushner. This is true on immigration, on foreign policy and especially on law enforcement. As crime in this country continues to rise Jared Kushner has led a highly aggressive effort to let more criminals out of prison and back on to the streets," Carlson said.

"Several times over the past few days the president has signaled that he would very much like to crackdown on rioters, that is his instinct," Carlson said "But every time he has been talked out of it by Jared Kushner and by aides that Kushner has hired and controls," he said.

Carlson criticized Trump National Security Adviser Robert O'Brien's comments on a Sunday program in which he remarked that "as the president said, we're with the peaceful protesters."

"Who are you talking about exactly?" Carlson shot back. "Is it the people spitting foam as they scream F the police?"
