Two Jewish conservatives launched "Jews Against Soros," a grassroots coalition of Jews who are against Democratic megadonor George Soros and argue that criticizing the billionaire is not antisemitic.

Senior Newsweek Editor Josh Hammer and Missouri Attorney General candidate Will Scharf launched the group Wednesday.

"Jews Against Soros will fight back against the common left-wing smear that opposition to Soros and his sprawling network of political organizations is antisemitic," the coalition said in an announcement about its launch.

"Attacking Soros for his influence on American politics to say nothing of his nefarious agenda in Israel itself, isn't antisemitic. It is simply a fact that Soros funds a huge proportion of the radical left in this country. And he must be stopped," the group also said.

Many U.S. Jews have criticized Soros for giving donations to groups such as J Street, an Israel lobbying organization whose leadership has met with the anti-Israel terrorist group Hamas in the Gaza Strip and was even condemned by the U.S. Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism for using "crude anti-Semitic conspiracy theories to advance their agenda."

Soros has come under fire for giving donations to political action committees that help elect progressive prosecutors, such as Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, Loudoun County Commonwealth Attorney Buta Biberaj of Virginia, Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner and former St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kimberly Gardner, who resigned last month following numerous scandals.
