Baltimore Orioles owner Peter Angelos passed away on Saturday at age 94. 

“Today, Peter G. Angelos passed away quietly at the age of 94,” the Major League Baseball team posted on the social media platform, X.  “Mr. Angelos had been ill for several years, and the family thanks the doctors, nurses, and caregivers who brought comfort to him in his final years."

Angelos had owned the team for over 30 years. 

According to ESPN, Angelos's son recently said he would sell the team to the Carlyle Group Inc. for $1.725 billion.

Major League Baseball owners still have to approve the deal.

Angelos is survived by his two sons, John and Louis.
