United Airlines jet catches fire before takeoff in Chicago, resulting in delays

A United Airlines flight aborted takeoff after an engine caught fire at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport on Monday, resulting in delays and halting arrivals. 

The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed that United Flight 2091 was supposed to take off at 2 p.m., when the engine caught fire. 

The plane was supposed to go to Seattle, Washington. A spokesperson said the situation was resolved safely, according to Fox News. 

United Airlines told the outlet that the plane was taken to the gate and that no one was injured. 

"We are working to make alternative travel arrangements for customers," a spokesperson said. 

There were 148 passengers on board and five crew members.
