The Office of the First Lady has announced that the White House this season will host its annual Christmas season tours.

First lady Melania Trump's office made the announcement Thursday, after saying earlier in the week that daily tours suspended because of the coronavirus will resume Sept. 12, though on a scaled-back basis.

"First lady Melania Trump and President Donald J. Trump are opening the people’s house up to the public for the traditional Christmas decorating of the White House," the announcement reads.

The White House is also seeking volunteers for Christmas decorating and entertainers who wish to perform at the White House throughout December.

Musicians – including bands, choirs and Christmas-themed entertainers – can apply here through October 8 for the chance to perform during the Holiday Open Houses in December. Applicants will be assigned a date and time to perform.

Decorating volunteers or people wanting to serve as greeters at the open houses can apply here before the October 1 deadline. A smaller number of volunteers will be selected this year and must wear a mask in order to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
