"There's been no negotiations, there's been no input, no committee work," said Texas GOP Rep. Brian Babin.

President Biden's $2 trillion American Jobs Plan is "another Trojan horse Democrat bill" that will be paid for by future generations, GOP Rep. Brian Babin of Texas said Friday.

"In this session, they keep talking about COVID bailouts and infrastructure and jobs, but quite frankly, it's a payoff,” Babin said in an interview for "The Water Cooler." "We see that very little of these bills have anything to do with infrastructure or with COVID relief, etc, etc. And it's basically a payoff to the teachers unions, to the cronies of the Democrats.

"Quite frankly, not a whole lot of input, in fact, no input at all from the Republican Party. They run these things through. There's been no negotiations, there's been no input, no committee work. And this is just another Trojan horse Democrat bill."

Democrats used budget reconciliation to move the $1.9 trillion coronavirus stimulus plan, which Biden proposed, through Congress to avoid the filibuster.

Babin, a member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, said Biden's plan will benefit labor unions and hurt right to work states.

"There will be provisions in here that will hurt right-to-work states like the state of Texas," he said. "Certainly I have a lot of people who support me that are in unions, but the unions themselves, why should someone who's not a member of a union have to pay dues? This is going to go straight to the union bosses."

The plan has not been fleshed out in legislative form yet, but the White House released a fact sheet about the plan.

Babin said Democrats should "be worried" about their chances of holding their majorities in the House and Senate due to the increased spending taking place.

"I think that they've got to be worried about what this is doing to their chances in '22," he said. "You can't keep spending this kind of money, it doesn't grow on trees. They're spending like drunk sailors, and every man, woman and child is going farther into debt, and my grandchildren are going to ultimately wind up having to pay for this."
