Ga. rep slams MLB as 'absolutely pathetic' after it announces departure from Atlanta over voting law

Georgia Rep. Buddy Carter slammed the Major League Baseball association on Friday after the league announced it was pulling its All-Star game out of Atlanta this year due to Georgia's new election reform law. 

The league "has completely caved to the lies of the Left," Carter told media, claiming that "America's pastime has now become a political tool for the liberal mob."

"Let's be clear – Georgia will be losing potentially hundreds of millions of dollars because Democrats, including the President of the United States, have been spreading lies about Georgia's Election Integrity Act," Carter said further.

Critics of the law have claimed it places unreasonable burdens on Georgia voters. The law implements measures such as I.D. requirements for absentee voting while also expanding early voting opportunities in some regions.
