New York Republican Rep. George Santos pleaded not guilty Wednesday to 13 federal charges including wire fraud, money laundering and stealing public funds and he was released on bond.

Santos, 34, pleaded not guilty in a Long Island courtroom after he turned himself in Wednesday morning. More than half of all the charges are on wire fraud.

The congressman was released on $500,000 bond that was posted by three individuals. His bond allows him to travel between New York and Washington, D.C., as well as other places with approval in advance, The New York Times reported.
