The U.S. House votedĀ 368-57 on Tuesday to pass a bill giving about $40 billion in aid to Ukraine nearly three months into Russia's brutal invasion.

The bill provides $7 billion more than what President Joe Biden requested in April and comes after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and a congressional delegation visited Ukraine earlier this month.

Every voting Democrat supported the measure and nearly 3 out of 4 Republicans did as well, The Associated Press reported.

"As China, Iran and North Korea watch our response, we must show the world that America stands firm with its allies and will do what is necessary to protect our interests abroad," Rep. Kay Granger (R-Texas) said.
