McCarthy says he thinks FBI will give Congress file on Biden bribery allegations

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy said he thinks the FBI will give Congress a document believed to detail bribery allegations involving then-Vice President Joe Biden and a foreign national.

The FBI failed to comply with the May 10 deadline for a subpoena issued for the document by House Oversight and Accountability Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.), but McCarthy said Sunday that he believes the FBI will hand over the requested materials.

"I explained to the director that we will do everything in our power, and we have jurisdiction over the FBI, that we have the right to see this document," McCarthy, a California Republican, said on Fox News' "Sunday Morning Futures" after he spoke on the phone with FBI director Christopher Wray on Friday.

"I believe after this call, we will get the document," McCarthy said.

Republican congressional investigators requested a document from the FBI that they say is a whistleblower disclosure form that allegedly details a pay-to-play bribery scheme involving Biden and a foreign national, including transactions and policy tied to Ukraine.
