Rep. Mayra Flores responded Sunday to a video showing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi appearing to elbow the newly-elected Texas GOP congresswoman's young daughter during the lawmaker's recent swearing-in ceremony.

Flores and her family attended the swearing-in ceremony Tuesday on Capitol Hill after the congresswoman won a June 14 special election in which she gave Republicans control of a House seat long held by Democrats and became the first Mexican-born woman to be elected to the lower chamber.

Over the weekend, actor James Woods – known for his conservative commentary on Twitter – posted a video of the incident and wrote, "I love this princess stood her ground, while Nancy showed her true colors."

Appearing to agree with Woods, Flores responded, "I am so proud of my strong, beautiful daughter for not allowing this to faze her. She continued to smile and pose for the picture like a Queen. No child should be pushed to the side for a photo op. PERIOD!!"

The video clip shows Pelosi nudging Flores' young daughter to the side. A full video of the ceremony appears to show Pelosi trying to make room for a pastor and his wife to join in the swearing-in photo-op.

Flores, whose husband is a Border Security officer, campaigned in part on a message of securing the U.S.-Mexico border from the waves of migrants that have been flooding across for years, and especially since the beginning of the Biden administration.
