Florida Republican Sen. Rick Scott is launching a national ad campaign criticizing Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and calling for a change within the GOP.

"People told me not to run for Republican leader against Mitch McConnell. They said I wouldn't win. I knew it was going to be hard, but we've gotta start somewhere," Scott says at the start of the ad, which is scheduled to start airing on Friday, according to Fox News.

The seven-digit ad buy comes after Scott lost his position as chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee after he challenged McConnell's position as leader in November and did not win the Senate majority in the midterms that month.

"Look, we’re on the road to woke socialism, and Republicans are just a speed bump," Scott said in the commercial. "We can't keep doing the same old thing. It's time for Republicans to be bold, speak the truth and stop caving in."

He directed viewers to visit RescueAmerica.com, on which he lays out a 12-point plan he believes will save the country.

Endorsed by former GOP House Speaker Newt Gingrich, the plan includes calls for inspiring patriotism in education, color blind equality and increasing penalties for violent criminals.

"Republicans need leaders in Washington who are tough, speak the truth, and aren't afraid to fight back against Biden's agenda," Scott tweeted as a caption to the advertisement. "It is time for real leadership in our Party."

Other Republican politicians have also turned on McConnell, including Sen. Mike Lee of Utah, Sen. Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, and, most publicly, former President Donald Trump.
