Florida Sen. Marco Rubio is urging President Biden to fire Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Mark Milley immediately.

In a letter to the president, Rubio, vice-chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee, writes with "grave concern" regarding recent reporting that Milley allegedly "worked to actively undermine the sitting Commander in Chief of the United States Armed Forces and contemplated a treasonous leak of classified information to the Chinese Communist Party in advance of a potential armed conflict."

"Even more egregiously, reports indicate that General Milley interfered with the procedures by which the civilian commander-in-chief can order a nuclear strike," writes Rubio.

“A senior military officer interfering with that civilian-controlled process is simply unacceptable at best, and at worst, would cause ambiguity which could lead to war,” he went on to say.

The actions are reportedly described in a forthcoming book, "Peril," by Washington Post journalists Bob Woodward and Robert Costa.

Rubio ended the letter by warning the president that the United States’ reputation was at stake if he didn’t immediately dismiss Gen. Milley, not to mention the potential national security risks such a deviation from long-standing procedures could inflict on the nation.
