Ghislaine Maxwell on Monday got charged with sex trafficking a minor, with prosecutors alleging that the woman groomed a 14-year-old female to take part in sex acts with Jeffrey Epstein and then subsequently paid the teenager.

The New York Times reported that a new federal indictment alleges that during a period between 2001 and 2004 the young girl gave nude massages to Epstein who engaged in sex acts with the girl, and following the massages Maxwell or other individuals would provide the 14-year-old with cash.

The indictment also alleges that Maxwell and Epstein pushed the young woman to recruit more people, and that the girl brought other females younger than 18 for Epstein's sexual massages, and that both she and the recruits she brought were given payment.

"The new indictment comes almost nine months after Ms. Maxwell, 59, once a fixture on New York’s social scene, was arrested in New Hampshire on charges she had lured multiple underage girls — one as young as 14 — into Mr. Epstein’s orbit, and contributed to his abuse of them," the New York Times reported, noting that Maxwell "pleaded not guilty to the original charges." The outlet reported that, "The new indictment issued on Monday cites an additional 14-year-old girl who is identified only as Minor Victim-4."
