Judge allows journalist Attkisson's case to continue on allegation feds hacked her computers

A federal judge has denied the latest motion to throw out investigative journalist Sharyl Attkisson's lawsuit alleging the federal government intrusions of her computers while she was a CBS News correspondent.

The case, Attkisson, et al., Plaintiffs vs Shaun Wesley Bridges, et al,. defendants is being heard in U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland.

Judge Richard Bennett ruled Monday that Attkisson, her husband and her daughter sufficiently alleged that Bridges, who at the time of the alleged intrusions was Secret Service agent, "illegally accessed and surveilled their electronic devices" in violation of the Electronic Communications Privacy Act." Attkisson says on her webpage.

Attkisson cites at least four devices having been compromised:

  • CBS Toshiba Laptop
  • Apple iMac Desktop
  • MacBook Air
  • Mobile devices, including Blackberry
