Mother of Hunter Biden's estranged daughter seeks to have child's last name changed to 'Biden'

Lunden Roberts' attorney said that the child would "benefit from carrying the Biden family name."

The mother of Hunter Biden's estranged daughter in Arkansas asked in court on Tuesday to have her daughter's last name changed to Biden.

Lunden Roberts is a former stripper and the mother to one of Hunter Biden's five children. Biden's paternity was confirmed by DNA testing in 2020, and he was required to pay Roberts $2.5 million. Roberts' lawyer filed the name change petition as a response to Hunter Biden's September 2022 motion to have child support payments reduced due to "financial circumstances," the Washington Examiner reports.

The request was denied by the four-year-old girl's mother.

Roberts' attorney, Clinton Lancaster, explained in court that Joe Biden's granddaughter currently named Navy Joan Roberts would "benefit from carrying the Biden family name."

The court filing was critical of the Biden family for being "estranged from the child. To the extent this is misconduct or neglect, it can be rectified by changing her last name to Biden so that she may undeniably be known to the world as the child of the defendant and member of the prestigious Biden family."

The filing further states that Hunter Biden has been "attempting to stifle discovery into his financial affairs while simultaneously reducing his child support obligation on the claim that he now earns less income."

Navy was born in Arkansas in 2018 and currently still lives there with her mother.
