Legal experts have scrutinized the case, deeming it extremely weak and suggesting such a charge would validate Trump's claims of political persecution.

Former President Donald Trump applauded the grand jury handling a case involving the payment of hush money to Stormy Daniels amid reports that it will not reconvene for one month.

"I HAVE GAINED SUCH RESPECT FOR THIS GRAND JURY, & PERHAPS EVEN THE GRAND JURY SYSTEM AS A WHOLE," Trump wrote on Truth Social, in his now-consistent all capital letters style. "THE EVIDENCE IS SO OVERWHELMING IN MY FAVOR, & SO RIDICULOUSLY BAD FOR THE HIGHLY PARTISAN & HATEFUL DISTRICT ATTORNEY, THAT THE GRAND JURY IS SAYING, HOLD ON, WE ARE NOT A RUBBER STAMP, WHICH MOST GRAND JURIES ARE BRANDED AS BEING, WE ARE NOT GOING TO VOTE AGAINST A PREPONDERANCE OF EVIDENCE OR AGAINST LARGE NUMBERS OF LEGAL SCHOLARS ALL SAYING THERE IS NO CASE HERE."

"DROP THIS SICK WITCH HUNT, NOW!" he continued.

Reports emerged on Wednesday that the grand jury in Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's case will not reconvene for one month. Trump previously indicated that he expected to be arrested last week, though that deadline came and went without any such development.

Legal experts have scrutinized the case, deeming it extremely weak and suggesting such a charge would validate Trump's claims of political persecution.

The exact reason for the delay remains unclear, however. Trump's remarks fuel further speculation that Bragg may be struggling to secure enough votes from the grand jury to actually press charges against the former president.
