DeSantis makes reference to 'Brandon administration' during Florida speech, furthering meme

The instant popularity of "Let's go, Brandon" has prompted the making of t-shirts, hats, coffee mugs, and a chart-topping rap
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis

Florida GOP. Gov. Ron DeSantis is joining the "Let's go, Brandon" meme, referred to the Biden administration as the "Brandon administration."

DeSantis made light of the popular chant among conservatives during a speech Wednesday in Boca Raton.

Following the governor's joke, chants of "Let's go, Brandon" broke out during the speech, which primarily focused on the issues facing conservatives including Big Tech and the "woke" agenda of large corporations.

The governor additionally commented on the Republican Party victories in Virginia on Tuesday evening, a harbinger that voters are rejecting the Democratic Party and its progressive agenda.

"If you look at all the things that are going on, you see Big Tech, you see the corporate media — although they weren't too happy with Virginia last night," he said.

"When you look at the Biden — when you look at the Brandon administration ... " he continued before being drowned out by chants from the crowd.

The popular meme stems from an episode several weeks ago, when NBC reporter Kelli Stavast was interviewing NASCAR driver Brandon Brown following his victory at Alabama's Talladega Superspeedway. With the surrounding crowd unmistakably chanting "F--- Joe Biden," Stavast claimed they were chanting "Let's go, Brandon" in tribute to the winning driver.

The phrase has since become synonymous with the expletive-laden cheer, and a way for conservative voters to express displeasure with the performance of the president.
