Saudi Crown Prince MBS reportedly mocks Biden in private

Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman is reportedly mocking U.S. President Joe Biden in private as relations between the two governments quickly deteriorate. 

The kingdom's 37-year-old ruler said he greatly preferred former President Donald Trump, people inside the Saudi government told The Wall Street Journal earlier this week. The prince allegedly said he has not been impressed with Biden since he served as vice president. 

Many of Salman's jokes apparently focus on Biden's gaffes and the 79-year-old president's cognitive fitness.

Residents of the kingdom have been publicly mocking Biden for months.

In April, a Saudi comedy skit circulated online, painting Biden as forgetful and tired.

Relations appear to be quickly deteriorating between the United States and Saudi Arabia. After the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, which Saudi Arabia is a leading member of, voted to cut oil production, the White House said the member nations were "aligning with Russia" in the war in Ukraine. Saudi Arabia responded by saying the cut was purely economic and that Biden had attempted to postpone the decision until after the midterm elections.
