Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Rochelle Walensky during an interview on Meet the Press said that the federal government is not counting on companies to impose COVID-19 vaccination mandates.

She said that companies should make it easy for workers to get inoculated and allow them the time to get the vaccine.

"So you're counting on businesses to do vaccine mandates?" anchor Chuck Todd asked.

"We're not counting on vaccine mandates at all. It may very well be that local businesses, local jurisdictions will work towards vaccine mandates. That is going to be locally driven and not federally driven," Walensky answered.
