No arrest yet after man punches Louisville mayor over weekend at public event

Police in Louisville, Kentucky, as of Tuesday morning had yet to announce an arrest in connection with a man who punched Mayor Greg Fischer over the weekend in the city's downtown.

The incident occurred Saturday evening at an entertainment-shopping complex after Fisher had given someone a hug, video of the incident shows.

Video and stills posted by WDRB.com show the man strike Fischer with his right fist and the mayor falling down.

Fischer was not seriously injured, said Louisville police, who are asking the public for assistance in finding the attacker. 

The mayor was at the city’s Pride parade prior to the attack, according to his Twitter account. And the mayor had security detail at the time of the attack, his office says.
