President Biden on Monday called for evidence to be gathered to put Russian leader Vladimir Putin on trial for war crimes related to his nation’s invasion of Ukraine and called the Russian leader a "war criminal."

“He is a war criminal,” Biden said of Putin, amid reports of the mass killing of civilians by Russian-led troops in the Ukraine city of Bucha, the capital of Kyiv.

The president also vowed more sanction in an effort to punish Russia for the invasion, now roughly six weeks old.
