Biden signs $1 trillion infrastructure bill

President Biden signed the $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill into law Monday, marking a major legislative accomplishment during his first year in office.

Biden hosted a bill signing ceremony at the White House, inviting politicians from both parties to celebrate the accomplishment.

"My message to the American people is this: America is moving again and your life is going to change for the better," the president said during his prepared speech following the bill's signing.

The legislation's price tag of $1.2 trillion will be paid over a period of eight years, and it caps off new spending at $550 million. 

The bill's signing marks the single-largest public infrastructure project since 1956 when President Eisenhower founded the interstate highway system, according to Axios.
