White House press secretary Jen Psaki saidTuesday the Trump administration didn't do anything meaningful toward bringing about Middle East peace.

Psaki spoke on the ninth days of deadly airstrikes between Israel and militant Hamas leaders, supportive of Palestinians' opposition to Israel.

The Trump administration strengthen ties with Israel, the United States' closest and longest-standing Middle East ally, and brokered accords in the region to normal relations and bring about peace.

"Aside from putting forward a peace proposal that was dead on arrival, we don't think they did anything constructive really to bring an end to the longstanding conflict in the Middle East," Psaki said Tuesday when asked about Trump's Abraham Accords, according to CNN.

The accords were a Trump administration attempt to secure peace between Israel and its Arab neighbors. They normalized relations between Israel, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.

Psaki said Biden is "not following the same tactics of the prior administration," telling reporters the president had reinstated humanitarian and security assistance to Palestinians, which Trump ended in 2018.

After the accords, other Arab nations normalized relations with Israel, including Morocco and Sudan, with many of those countries opening their first embassies with Israel.
