The cost of the taxpayer-funded security fence around President Biden's vacation home in the Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, area has now reportedly exceeded $490,000, with the president expected to arrive Saturday at his coastal residence.

In September 2021, the Department of Homeland Security awarded $456,548 to a local company to construct a security fence around the estimated $2.7 million home, in the North Shore community.

A review of the database USAspending.gov. by Fox News Digital shows the contract with Turnstone Holdings LLC was increased in Nov. 2021 by $6,844 as a result of a "supplemental agreement" and roughly two months ago by $26,933 for additional work.

The total contract cost for the purchase and installation of the security fencing is now $490,324.

The DHS did not respond to Fox’s inquiry about the cost increases.

The Secret Service also declined to comment, citing "the need to maintain operational security."

Construction of the fence began Sept. 21, 2021, and is expected to be completed by June 2023.
