White House press secretary says she’ll likely leave job in ‘about a year’

Jen Psaki had earlier signalled she would not stay in position for entire four-year term.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki this week said she will likely leave her high post in the Biden administration within the next year, echoing claims she has made before that she does not expect to stay in that position for four years.

Psaki made the claim while talking to former Obama adviser David Axelrod on his podcast “The Axe Files.”

"I think it's going to be time for somebody else to have this job in a year from now or about a year from now," she said.

Psaki cited her two children as one of the primary motivators for wanting to leave the job.

“I have little kids and I don't want to miss time with them,” she told Axelrod. “And, you know, my daughter is going into kindergarten. I have a lot of years with her, but she's kind of a magical unicorn. And I don't want to miss moments. I don't want to miss things.”
