California-based electric car company Rivian issued a major recall on Friday for every one of the cars it has delivered thus far, claiming a loose fastener on them could pose a safety risk.

The company said in an email to customers on Friday evening that it had received multiple reports of the problem and that it was "committed to fixing this issue on any affected vehicles as quickly as possible."

"We will begin immediately contacting affected customers to schedule appointments for inspections and repairs if needed," the company said, stating that the repairs would be done "free of charge" at company service centers and that the fixes could be done in "a few minutes."

"[W]e have built out the capacity to complete the needed action in as little as 30 days," the company said, adding: "To date, we are not aware of any injuries that have resulted from this issue."

Based in Irvine, Rivian is known for its line of electric SUVs and pickup trucks.
