An armed man who was impersonating a U.S. marshal was arrested at Democrat presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s campaign event.

According to Kennedy, the man possessed two holstered weapons and carried a U.S. Marshals badge with a federal ID and approached him at a Los Angeles campaign event, claiming to be a part of his security.

Kennedy said that his security team identified and apprehended the man until the local police arrived.

“I’m very grateful that alert and fast-acting protectors… spotted and detained an armed man who attempted to approach me at my Hispanic Heritage speech at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles tonight,” Kennedy wrote on X, the platform previously called Twitter.

Los Angeles Police confirmed that the man was arrested for posing as a federal agent at the campaign event, according to The Hill.

“I’m still entertaining a hope that President Biden will allow me Secret Service protection,” Kennedy added in his social media post.

In July, the Biden administration denied Kennedy Secret Service protection, despite him being a 2024 presidential candidate.
