ISIS supporter arrested after being involved in alleged plot to kill police officers and mayor

32-year-old Ridon Kola was arrested and charged with making threatening interstate communications, according to the Justice Department

A New York man who has shown his support online for ISIS and the Islamic State, was arrested earlier this week with charges of threatening to kill a mayor and plotting to kill police officers.

According to the Justice Department, 32-year-old Ridon Kola was arrested and charged with making threatening interstate communications, Fox News reported.

Kola allegedly threatened to kill a mayor on a street where a local St. Patrick's Day parade is set to be held in Yonkers, New York on Saturday.

He also reportedly sent a message to the Yonkers Police Department March 9, stating "First people to be crucified will be the Yonkers rats Vallahi. Allahu Ekberr"; and "I will crucify Yonkers cops and their bosses all along McLean ave. It will be a horror scene . . . Allahu Ekberr."

Authorities also said that on his social media, he posted a picture of himself holding an ax with the caption: "Come on Judas, I'm waiting for you," in Albanian.

"As alleged, Ridon Kola posted threats on social media against law enforcement, stating his support for ISIS and his intention to murder numerous police officers," U.S. Attorney Damian Williams said in a statement. "

"Undeterred after questioning from law enforcement, Kola's conduct escalated, as he continued to assure police his threats would be carried out," the statement continued.
