Man suspected of killing six people arrested in Northern California

A suspect was arrested Saturday for the alleged killing of six men and the wounding of one woman in a series of shootings, the Associated Press reports.

The suspect reportedly drove through the streets of Stockton, California, armed with a handgun. He was arrested before dawn on Saturday while looking for his next victim, police said.

The suspect's name is Wesley Brownlee and Police Chief Stanley McFadden said at a news conference that he had a mask around his neck and was "out hunting." 

"We are sure we stopped another killing," Chief McFadden said at the news conference.

According to the Associated Press, Brownlee is expected to be arraigned on murder charges Tuesday. Police say that he has a criminal history.

The victims Brownlee allegedly killed were Juan Vasquez Serrano, Paul Yaw, Salvador Debudey Jr., Jonathan Hernandez Rodriguez, Juan Cruz and Lawrence Lopez Sr. 

The police have said they received many tips after announcing the manhunt for a suspected serial killer, and investigators found where he was living and were able to track him. 

"Based on tips coming into the department and Stockton Crime Stoppers, we were able to zero in on a possible suspect," McFadden said at the press conference, according to the AP. "Our surveillance team followed this person while he was driving. We watched his patterns and determined early this morning, he was on a mission to kill."
