Police announce arrests of suspects charged with leaving pig's head at former home of Chauvin juror

Three women have been charged by the Santa Rosa Police Department with conspiracy and felony vandalism for allegedly dumping a decapitated pig's head at the former home of a witness for Derek Chauvin in his recent criminal trial. 

Barry Brodd, a former Santa Rosa police officer, testified earlier this year in Chauvin's defense during the latter's murder trial for the death of Minneapolis resident George Floyd, who died last year after Chauvin knelt on his neck for several minutes during an arrest. 

A severed pig's head was subsequently found at a home at which Brodd used to live. In an announcement, Santa Rosa police said they arrested three women, all Santa Rosa, California residents, while serving search warrants at their home this week. 

The three were charged with "conspiracy" and "felony counts of vandalism."  

The police said they believe "there are additional suspects that were involved" with the crime.
