Shooting leaves 2 dead, 7 injured in suburban Pittsburgh bar

Preliminary information indicates that the shooting occurred following an altercation inside the bar that caused multiple people to open fire, officials said.

Two people are dead and seven others are injured after a shooting occurred in a bar in a Pittsburgh suburb, police said Sunday.

The Allegheny County Police Department said officers responded to a call shortly before 3 a.m. local time on Sunday in the town of Penn Hills. Upon arriving at the scene, first responders discovered a deceased adult male and a deceased adult female inside of Ballers Hookah Lounge and Cigar Bar.  

Seven more victims were discovered at the scene, and they were transported to local hospitals. One of the victims is in critical condition while the remaining victims have non-life-threatening injuries.

The Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating the situation. Preliminary information indicates that the shooting occurred following an altercation inside the bar that caused multiple people to open fire, officials said.
