Two killed, one injured in Los Angeles Burlington shooting

The suspect and a teenager were killed.

Two people were killed – a teenage girl and an allegedly armed suspect – after a shooting Thursday inside of a Burlington store in North Hollywood, Los Angeles, according to police.

Los Angeles Police Department Cpt. Stacy Spell stated that officers arrived and began searching for an armed suspect who was assaulting another person. 

At least one officer fired upon the suspect who was then taken into custody and later declared dead, according to Spell.

One bullet missed the a suspect, penetrated a solid wall into a dressing room and struck a 14-year-old girl who died at the scene.

Another woman was injured and taken to the hospital for trauma related to the incident.

The LAPD tweeted this is "NOT an active shooter" shortly after the attack occurred.

LAPD has lost hundreds of officers since 2019, while the city's homicide rate has increased dramatically.
