Tennis player Jannik Sinner on Sunday became the first Italian to win the Australian Open title when he clinched what is his first Grand Slam title after the tournament had long been dominated by Serbian tennis legend Novak Djokovic.

Sinner, 22, beat Russian player Daniil Medvedev, 27, after what the Australian Open said was "five hardfought sets," in which he lost the first two sets and won the last three.
