Ye suspended from Twitter by Musk after swastika post

Ye had been suspended from Twitter earlier, but restored to the platform by Musk.

Twitter early Friday suspended the account of music artist and entrepreneur Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, after he posted a photo of a swastika merged with the Star of David, a sacred Jewish symbol.

"I tried my best. Despite that, he again violated our rule against incitement to violence," Twitter owner Elon Musk wrote on the platform in explaining the decision. "Account will be suspended."

The action came at the end of a tumultuous 48 hours for Ye, after he appeared with InfoWars broadcaster Alex Jones to say there were “a lot of things” he loved about Adolf Hitler and Parlament Technologies announced it had terminated a deal for him to buy the Parler social media app.

Ye had been suspended from Twitter earlier this year before Musk take over, and his account was restored by Twitter’s new owner last month. There was no immediate word on how long the current suspension will be.

Shortly before he was booted, Ye posted a photo if a swastika intertwined with a Star of David and suggested it would be used as the logo for his 2024 presidential campaign.

Ye also tweeted an unflattering picture of Musk aboard a yacht with Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel. The Twitter owner said, however, that post had nothing to do with the suspension.

“Just clarifying that his account is being suspended for incitement to violence, not an unflattering picture of me being hosed by Ari," Musk wrote.

He added: "Frankly, I found those pics to be helpful motivation to lose weight!"
