Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg confidently stated on Sunday that current woes with the U.S. supply chain are sure to continue into 2022.

"Certainly a lot of the challenges that we've been experiencing this year will continue into next year,” Buttigieg told Jake Tapper on CNN’s "State of the Union” on Sunday.

“But there are both short-term and long-term steps that we can take to do something about it," he noted, arguing that high demand is also driving a lot of the chaos.

Buttigieg claimed that the passage of the $3.5 trillion funding bill would help alleviate some of the problems driving the crisis.

The White House has been signalling in recent weeks that shipping and supply issues may significantly effect the 2021 holiday season with delays and shortages.
