You Vote: Will Democrats' Inflation Reduction Act reduce inflation?

Experts have expressed doubt about Biden's signature legislation lowering prices.

Over the past few days, senior White House officials have been unable to say when the Inflation Reduction Act, the massive Democrat spending and tax bill signed into law by President Biden, will actually start reducing inflation.

The White House's lack of clarity came after the Bureau of Labor Statistics announced last week that inflation was higher than expected in September, rising 8.2% year-over-year.

Experts — and even progressive lawmakers such as Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) — have said the legislation won't live up to its name, explaining it won't reduce inflation in a significant way, if at all.

Biden has described the spending package as a "Godsend" that "tackles inflation by lowering the deficit and lowering costs for regular families."
