Former Vice President Walter Mondale has died at the age of 93

Mondale was trounced by incumbent Republican President Ronald Reagan in the 1984 election.

Former Vice President Walter Mondale passed away on Monday at the age of 93.

Mondale, who also served as a U.S. senator, was trounced by incumbent Republican President Ronald Reagan during the 1984 election. The final electoral vote tally was a lopsided 525-13 in Reagan's favor.

He served as vice president alongside President Jimmy Carter from 1977 to 1981.
