Louisiana GOP Rep. Mike Johnson said that censorship is becoming a major concern of all Americans, not just Republicans.

"We're hearing this across the board: It's not just conservative Republicans, it's everyone, because more and more people are beginning to recognize that this is kind of a scary trend," Johnson said on the Monday edition of the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show. "It's a foundational principle of our constitutional system that the government does not get to determine what speech is 'true' or 'acceptable.'"

Independent journalist Matt Taibbi recently testified before the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government about the government colluding with Big Tech to censor social media users.

According to House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, an IRS agent went to Taibbi's home the same day as the testimony, in a possible intimidation attempt.

"The FBI itself was regularly meeting with the Big Tech platforms to censor and silence conservative voices on this online," said Johnson. "We have known intuitively that's been happening, but now we have the evidence. We have the receipts for it."

Johnson stated that this is a dangerous precedent and accountability is coming.

"What the people want, what they're demanding, is accountability," he said. "And it's a very methodical and slow process to get there. But accountability is coming."
