Ford announced a recall of nearly half a million of its vehicles this week due to a defect that prevents the rear view camera from displaying while the vehicle is moving in reverse.

The recall includes almost 383,000 SUVs equipped with 360 degree cameras, among them Ford Explorers and Lincoln Aviators, according to the Associated Press. It will affect 462,000 vehicles worldwide, Reuters noted.

Ford has admitted it is aware of 17 minor crashes stemming from the issue, none of which have resulted in injuries.

The company has received more than 2,000 warranty reports related to the defect, which will require a software update to fix, The Hill reported.
