As the U.S. faces an influx of migrants along its southern border, former President Donald Trump during an interview with television host Jeanine Pirro said that he will likely head to the border in the coming weeks.

Trump said that many people want him to visit the border: "The border patrols and all of the people of ICE, they want me there, they've asked me to go. And I really sort of feel I owe it to them. They're great people, they're doing an incredible job."

When asked when his visit would occur, Trump said, "Over the next couple of weeks. The Border Patrol wants me to go. Probably over the next couple of weeks."

Later during the interview when Pirro pressed Trump about the timing again, he responded: "Well I don't want to set a schedule, but over the next few weeks I guess I'll go. And I'm not sure that I really should do it Jeanine, other than the fact I have such respect for the Border Patrol and for ICE," who he said are "dying for leadership."
