Ivana Trump dies at 73

Her ex-husband, former President Donald Trump, made the announcement about her death on his platform, Truth Social.

Ivana Trump, the first wife of former President Donald Trump, died at her home in New York at the age of 73, her ex-husband posted Thursday on his platform, Truth Social.

"I am very saddened to inform all of those that loved her, of which there are many, that Ivana Trump has passed away at her home in New York City. She was a wonderful, beautiful, and amazing woman, who led a great and inspirational life. Her pride and joy were her three children, Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric. She was so proud of them, as we were all so proud of her. Rest In Peace, Ivana," former President Trump wrote.

Ivana Trump was born in Czechoslovakia in 1949. She met her second husband, Donald Trump, in New York City where she was working as a model. 

The two got married in 1977 and had three children before divorcing in 1992. 

After the divorce, she went on to develop clothing and beauty product lines.Her son, Eric Trump, posted on Truth Social about his mother's death.

"It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Ivana Trump. Our mother was an incredible woman — a force in business, a world-class athlete, a radiant beauty, and caring mother and friend. Ivana Trump was a survivor. She fled from communism and embraced this country. She taught her children about grit and toughness, compassion and determination. She will be dearly missed by her mother, her three children and ten grandchildren," he wrote, including a photo of himself, Ivanka and Donald Jr. as children with their parents. 

Ivanka Trump mourned the loss of her mother as well, stating that she is heartbroken.

"Mom was brilliant, charming, passionate and wickedly funny. She lived life to the fullest — never forgoing an opportunity to laugh and dance," she wrote on Twitter.
