Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel says she expects former President Donald Trump to sign a candidates pledge, as a requirement to participate in the party's  2024 GOP presidential candidates, to support the eventual nominee.

"He signed it in 2016," McDaniel said Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union."

Trump previously said that if he is not the 2024 Republican nominee, his presidential pick "would have to depend on who the nominee was."

McDaniel also said Sunday that in 2016, all GOP candidates signed the pledge to support the ultimate winner of the nomination.

As to the 2024 presidential candidates, she said, "I think they're all going to sign it. I really do."

She urged Republicans to unite to defeat President Joe Biden.

"We have to come together as a party," McDaniel said. "We saw big races lost this cycle because of Republicans refusing to support other Republicans. And unless we fix this in our party, unless we start coming together, we will not win in 2024."
