Former President Donald Trump has declared he was unaware that Kanye West was bringing an infamous Holocaust denier to dinner at Mar-a-Lago earlier this week.

West dined at Mar-a-Lago with Trump on Nov. 22 of this week; also spotted at the club was Nick Fuentes, a commentator known for advancing the anti-Semitic conspiracy theory of Holocaust denial as well as advocating racist ideologies.

Controversy erupted over Fuentes’s presence at Mar-a-Lago, leading Trump to write on Truth Social that he had been blindsided by Kanye, the latter of whom reportedly brought Fuentes and two other guests without Trump’s being aware of it.

“This past week, Kanye West called me to have dinner at Mar-a-Lago,” Trump wrote. “Shortly thereafter, he unexpectedly showed up with three of his friends, whom I knew nothing about.”

“We had dinner on Tuesday evening with many members present on the back patio. The dinner was quick and uneventful. They then left for the airport,” he continued.

Fuentes has been known for regularly making allusions toward racist, anti-Semitic and/or white supremacist ideologies.

In one instance he alluded to the common conspiracy theory that far fewer than six million Jews were murdered by the Nazi government during the Holocaust. “The math doesn’t seem to add up there,” he said.
